Preservative Free Life

Take The Preservative Free Life Stand

Preservative Free Life is a resource and a movement of people who want to eat healthy and resist giving in to society’s standard of eating convenient processed, preservative packed foods. If you need to lose weight, maintain your current weight, get sick less frequently, manage an irritable bowel disease like Crohns, Colitis, or Celiac, or are just looking for a healthy diet, then taking the Preservative Free Life stand may be for you. There is so much over-processed, preservative loaded food out there and we are just now starting to see the long term effects of that lifestyle. Nobody really even knows how much damage those foods cause!

Eating preservative free will help you establish your body’s healthy weight and maintain that weight long term. Preservative Free Life is not a diet. It is a change in the way you live your life and a change in your eating habits. Like any habit, it takes time to break yourself of your old eating habits and establish new ones, but it will be well worth it. Preservative Free Life is not any less convenient than the way you eat now, it’s just different and it takes a little time to learn how to make it work. That’s where Preservative Free Life comes in…to help you learn how to eat a healthy diet that will change your life for the better.

The Problem with Preservative Laced Foods

Overly processed, preservative packed foods are very likely to become stored as fat in your body when compared to fresh foods. Processed foods are loaded with empty calories that are very likely to be stored as fat and worst of all, the portion size of processed foods has to be tiny compared to fresh foods in order to prevent your body from storing the foods as fat.

Our bodies were not meant to handle all of the processed preservative and refined sugar laced foods that are available to us these days. We were meant to eat fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts and grains. In fact, your sweet tooth you have was really meant to be a way to guide you to eat optimally nutritious ripe fruits and vegetables, but has turned into a misguided desire for foods loaded with refined sugars.

How Does Preservative Free Life Look?

The basic idea is that preservative loaded foods should be avoided and you should eat healthy fresh food 90% of the time. Then, as happens in real life, when you need to celebrate a birthday with cake or eat out at a restaurant that doesn’t have fresh, preservative free food, you can have at it 10% of the time. However, if you have an irritable bowel disease like Colitis or Crohns disease, you may need to stick to cooked fresh fruits, veggies, and meats until your symptoms subside. Speaking of irritable bowel diseases, you’ve got to consider that our society’s preservative packed ways of eating may well have something to do with the increasing number of irritable bowel disease cases.

The goal here is to get you back to eating the foods you were designed to eat instead of the packaged man-made foods so readily available to us today. And you really don’t know what you’re getting when you eat out…but I can tell you it’s also laced with preservatives, empty calories, and other nearly poisonous ingredients like MSG. It’s not that you shouldn’t eat out…you just need to do it less and learn what to order.

In addition, your goals and fitness level should determine the amount of calories and carbohydrates you intake. If you exercise a lot, then you should eat more carbs and vice versa. If your goal is to lose weight, then you simply need to eat less than the number of calories you burn in a given day. This is surprisingly easy when you’re eating fresh, healthy, preservative free foods. Packaged foods often have lots of empty calories that never seem to get you feeling full, making you want more and more while throwing your caloric intake through the roof. This is why people gain weight when they don’t intend to. On the other hand, you can eat more fresh foods to feel full and satisfied while consuming way less calories.

Some examples of empty calorie loaded foods are: Refined grains like white bread and white rice, cakes, cookies, processed foods with added sugars, margarine, shortening, beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages. It should be your goal to avoid these foods 90% of the time.

All that being said, our goal is to educate you about how preservative loaded foods and empty calories are not optimally healthy and show you how to make the change from eating what everyone else eats to eating the fresh healthy foods you were intended to eat. You might be surprised at how easy it is to lose the weight you want to lose, feel better, and stay healthy in the long run.
